I don’t know about you guys but I love oversized mirrors in any space, big or small. The reflection from the large panes of glass somehow make a room feel larger and more open, revealing a true representation. When I think back on every small space I have designed there has always been an element of reflection incorporated in the room. When it comes to mirrors, the bigger the better is my mantra! I have chosen several inspirations to share with you in case you or anyone you know are beginning the journey of redecorating a space and desire a oversized mirror on the wall. I particularly love the mirror over the fireplace, it feels very grand, don’t you think?
Hanging a mirror in a narrow hallway is a great way to extend the space and help the eye to not be so distracted by the cozy walking quarters. I am a big fan of narrow hallways mostly because I find them charming and in a way, comforting. The image below is a wonderful example of how a mirror can reflect light and space to create an expanded feeling and vision to the eye.
How do you use mirrors in your home? Do you notice a difference in your space when you reflect the light? I find it amazing how in the last image it is clear that just by the reflection of the mirror over the fireplace we can see another part of this space. How wonderful of a metaphor….as we reflect, we are open to new insights.
