The Voice of a Vignette: Igor of Happy Interior Blog

It is a pleasure to bring you such a delightful treat this Friday! Many of you may already know Igor of Happy Interior Blog for his exquisite taste when it comes to interiors and finding unique items that make a house a home. I am honored to have my talented friend on the blog today sharing a vignette he has styled in his home. Igor is also going to take us on a little journey behind his creation and the meaning it holds for him. Thank you, Igor for being a part of this series and by the way, I love your mantra!

Hello everyone!

My name is Igor and I am blogging on Happy Interior Blog about everything that inspires me for a happy home. Inspiration is abundant, it is all around us, we just have to look and allow the inspiration to catch our inner eye. It is the inspiration gathered through my life and my travels, passions and loves that shapes my vignettes at home. Just like this little sideboard vignette.

Even though I use to put things together in a very intuitive manner without any planning or big pondering, I happen to realize after completion that all comes together just the way it should and every details has a meaning to me. In this specific case it has the following meaning to me:

The vintage oil painting of a rough Mediterranean coast strip was painted in the 50s and reminds me of my endless love for the Mediterranean. It also reminds me of my time spent in Athens, Greece, where I lived and studied for a while. The plants are a symbol of life to me – they not only add life to my apartment but they make me smile, too. Just like my little plant pot with a smiling face – I think I like it that much because he reminds me a bit of myself – good mood and a smile on the face is my best equipment to start every new day. The vintage Danish vase symbolizes my love for handmade ceramics and everything related to our earth, the soil we walk on and all the goodness we create with our hands. The white planter is another favorite of mine – its positive message is like a daily mantra. Whatever cooks up in our lives and wherever we found ourselves, if we don’t believe in ourselves we are lost anyway. Make everyday your day! And last but not least, the pile of books on the left sums up some of my passions: traveling and houseplants. Inspiration is to be found on travels and in nature – at least that is my approach. Oh and even the mirror in the back has a meaning – when I look on all the little things that I’ve collected over time and around the world, I have an instant smile on my face. That’s the moment when I behold my face in that mirror and remember where everything started. From a smile and the happiness to be alive and shape my everyday life.

I hope this styling made you smile, too. Shape your home and your life so that it will always make you happy and make you smile.
