The Voice of a Vignette : Judith of

Hello everyone, how are you today? I am pleased to bring you another vignette, this time from the lovely Judith of When I began this series last week I realized just how important meaning is to me, it doesn’t have to be super deep, it can be anything that carries some significance in life. Inviting others to share their vignettes and the meaning behind them is something I enjoy very much and hope you will too. How beautiful is Judith’s hyacinth? I can almost smell it!

From Judith~So about the vignette, it’s my desk where I work most of the time. It’s in our yellow living room which is north-facing, which means there is rarely any direct sunlight. Artist and I started wallpapering my wall with black & white cards, business cards, badges, museum tickets and stickers. Their logos and scripts inspire me to make pretty designs for my clients and remind me of my travels. There are even some prints of my #joelixruns instagram series that remind me to keep running. There’s also a white Lego storage box (I love Lego!), an extra lens for my analog camera that I recently found back, a Byredo candle from Stockholm (love this scent!). There’s also a little succulent which isn’t super happy on my desk because of the lack of direct sunlight, but it’s still growing though. A bowl with palm tree grains that I need to plant in the spring, one of my favorite French magazines (The Good Life), a few books (Matisse drawings, Fika pastry book, OK – Omin Käsin by Riikka Kantinkoski and Susanna Vento, …), there’s a disco ball for a little bit of glitter, a kitschy tropical shell I recently found in my stash. A little bit of this, a little bit of that.

For me, the most exciting part about inviting people to share their stories here is how much I learn from them. With every sentence my eyes are opened to a new way of seeing, feeling, and thinking. I am grateful for Judith’s sharing and be sure to check out her impeccably curated blog over at You won’t want to miss her incredible house in France, I hope to one day see it in person!

Have a wonderful day,

mel - What a gorgeous vignette by Judith and the perfect creative space to work in and from the photo, it’s hard to imagine that it doesn’t get any light. I especially love how Judith burns a candle while she works – my new thing. So great to pop over and discover your beautiful blog Joycelyn. Mel xReplyCancel
