Terrarium Building and Styling Workshop with West Elm

Hello everyone and welcome to Monday! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend? From what I saw on Instagram it looked like (almost) every city in the world experienced beautiful weather! I noticed the sun was out in Hamburg and London! Here in my little corner of the world I couldn’t have asked for better weather, we had sunshine and 73 degrees. Spring is by far the nicest time of year in Arizona as the air is incredible clean and the sky is as blue as the sea. As I mentioned Saturday, I spent some time as west elm in Scottsdale getting material to build another terrarium to compliment my “green” house. Did I ever tell you my grandfather was a grower in Florida? As kids, my sister and I would spend the summer with my grandparents and could always be found in the greenhouse watering and cleaning plants. I call my home now the greenhouse as it seems every day I bring home a new green friend. Do you love to incorporate green into your interior?

In my experience, adding plants or trees into a space is an instant transformer. When working with my clients who want a sense of calm or tranquility in their space I always recommend bringing in a few green friends to add a new element of design. West Elm makes infusing green into our homes so easy, they carry so many over the top cool terrariums and bulbs from hanging ones to giant egg shaped glass guys like the one below. I purchased the one you see below a few weeks ago and when I was chatting to the manager I mentioned it would be so nice to have a workshop in the store, of course I knew of the perfect teacher, my good friend Charlie Ray of The Green Room. Charlie and I have worked on so many projects together and he has taught me a lot when it comes to nature. A few days after mentioning my idea to west elm in Scottsdale I got a call and we were both asked to hop on board and design a workshop that would not only help people build one but style it in their home.

Charlie and I are both excited and honored to be collaborating with west elm,  the community they bring together through creativity is very exciting to be a part of.  If you are in Scottsdale please come in and join in on the fun! We will be at west elm Scottsdale Quarter this Thursday, March 13th from 5:30pm until the last terrarium is built! Can’t wait to see you there!

Have a spectacular Monday!
